Plantlore details and wip, 2018, The Limerick Printmakers studio residency bursary, Various printmaking techniques.

Images of both works in progress and finished works made over a six month period as artist in residence at The Limerick Printmakers.

These prints drew their inspiration from an ongoing investigation into Irish folklore in relation to plants. Using a mixture of printmaking techniques such as silk screen, lithography and mono-type printing I experimented by using the form of the plants, and drawing inspiration from their colours and habitats and also in some cases incorporating plant matter into the works themselves. Text was also incorporated into a number of prints, gathered from ancient Irish folkloric tales, poems and songs about plants, this text indicates the relationship that humans once had with nature.
